Nutrition for Health
There is a direct correlation between the food we eat and our general state of well-being. Eating well is one of the pillars of lasting good health and can help to optimize health, prevent, and even put you on the road to healing nutrition-related health problems.
Whether you are interested in a simple nutrition “tune-up” session, or a more in depth medical nutrition intervention—the Marino Center nutritionists can help you navigate through the abundance of nutritional information and guide you toward the best food choices for you.
The Marino Center’s nutritionists are Registered Dietitians who have training in nutrition therapy and in functional medicine - which considers the unique nutritional needs of each individual and the aspects that make up his/her life. Functional lab testing is often a part of nutrition therapy used to uncover insufficiencies or individual sensitivities.

What to Expect
An initial visit includes a review of your medical history, your nutrition-related symptoms, relevant lab tests and previous diet strategies. Our nutritionists will evaluate your diet, your nutritional status and metabolic needs. We will consider your goals and the habits, attitudes and other issues which might have limited your progress in the past and will work with you to devise a personalized plan which considers your nutritional needs, food preferences, likes and dislikes lifestyle, family circumstances, allergies or sensitivities and medical conditions.
Ongoing visits are used to follow up on progress, manage obstacles and reestablish goals. We will also provide additional nutrition education, advice on healthy food preparation, counseling, coaching, recommendations for nutrient supplements with the goals of supporting your needs and improving the quality of your life.
Many insurance companies cover nutrition services for medical necessity, which may include weight loss. Please call the Marino Center to determine your insurance coverage. Individuals may be self-referred or referred by their physician.
