Pediatric Vaccination Policy

The family medicine physicians at the Marino Center strongly recommend childhood vaccinations in the primary prevention of infectious diseases.

We stand with the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in recommending immunizations for all children and young adults.

We agree that immunizations are safe and effective for preventing serious and life threatening diseases in individual children and in the population as a whole.

Based on all available scientific literature, and current studies there is no evidence that vaccines cause autism or other developmental disabilities.

While we welcome all children into our practice regardless of their immunization status, we consider it our responsibility to respectfully encourage vaccinations at each visit.

We invite parents with further questions to schedule an appointment with a family medicine physician to discuss vaccination.

We ask that parents of unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated patients inform the Marino Center staff when scheduling a visit for an acute illness.  Appropriate precautions will be taken to isolate these patients from others at the office to prevent the spread of infectious disease.
