As an important part of our mission, The Marino Center is involved in a variety of research and education initiatives designed to inform and educate about integrative healthcare and helpful health topics. Our efforts include:
Medical Resident Rotations
The Marino Center is proud to be a rotation site for residents in Internal Medicine Residency Programs from both Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Through the program, under the direction of our own Genevieve Anand, MD, MPH, Residents learn from primary care providers who treat patients with a more holistic approach to preventive health and integrative approaches to disease management. They also shadow complementary providers of health care and experience a variety of treatments. They learn how to access evidence based literature that will help them integrate these approaches into their future roles as providers practicing in the community.
"The clinical experience on this rotation was very good. It provided me with the ability to learn more about and experience a variety of different treatment modalities that many of my patients utilize. I now feel more comfortable being able to discuss these treatment modalities with my patients." A new doctor in training
Public Lectures and Shows
Throughout the year, the Marino Center conducts lectures and participates in health-related conferences and shows to provide health education opportunities for the public. Whatever the specific topic, these events promote healthy living and emphasize the benefits of an integrative approach to healthcare. In addition, we act as an integrative healthcare resource for local community organizations and the media through expert commentary, brochures, press releases, social media outlets, frequently updated information on our website and more.
Conferences for Medical Professionals
The Marino Center offers biannual conferences through which medical professionals throughout the community can earn CME credits and expand their knowledge on critical and timely topics such as Integrative Medicine, regulations, etc. In addition, the Center holds weekly professional development meetings for our own staff to learn more about current topics, trends, etc and share their experiences and knowledge with their colleagues.
