What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the largest drug-free and non-invasive health care system in the world. It is a branch of the healing arts which is concerned with human health and prevention of disease. Special attention is given to spinal biomechanics as well as musculoskeletal, neurologic and nutritional relationships.
Are Chiropractors Doctors?
Though chiropractors are not MD's, they are specialized doctors who are uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat spinal problems. they undergo a minimum of six years of professional training, which leads to a doctor of chiropractic degree (DC). Their studies revolve around biology, physiology, and other sciences, as well as health care.
Is Chiropractic Covered by my Insurance?
Most major insurance companies now recognize Chiropractic Medicine as a viable and coverable treatment. At The Marino Center, we accept the following insurance plans: Tufts, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, HMO Blue, Harvard/Pilgrim, and many more (please see our insurance page). As with any medical service, you should always check with your individual plan for coverage benefits.
